Spring Exhibitions at MACRO's Museum for Preventive Imagination
BLESS: “25 Years of Always Stress with BLESS” February 9 – May 12, 2024
The first institutional exhibition in Italy is dedicated to the art of Desiree Heiss and Ines Kaag, founders of the Bless studio, who referred to themselves as ‘situation designers.’ Established in 1995, the interdisciplinary Bless studio combines fashion, product design, and the power of gesture. This character-like studio creates practical, conceptual, and surreal products, transforming exhibitions into everyday environments. The exhibition showcases over 25 years of work.
Pauline Curnier Jardin & Feel Good Cooperative: “Triviale” February 9 – May 12, 2024
The exhibition highlights the work of French artist Pauline Curnier Jardin within the Feel Good Cooperative collective. Founded in Rome in 2020, the cooperative, led by the artist, architect, and researcher Serena Olcuire, collaborates with Colombian trans sex workers. Together, they present a theatrical set exploring the intersection of public and domestic aspects of sex work. The exhibition, supported by Trampoline and Nuovi Mecenati, features three films shot in Rome between 2021 and 2023. These films provide a unique perspective on the city’s monumental power structures from the viewpoint of sex workers.
